Your Consultation
You will receive an initial face-to-face consultation with your aesthetic nurse practitioner who will take a detailed medical history and listen to your specific skin concerns and goals to determine a treatment plan suitable for you. Photographs will be taken prior to any treatment to create your own skin journey portfolio.

How Does Profhilo Work?
Profhilo stimulates your fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin which are proteins that provide your skin with structure and support - almost like your skins own scaffolding structure.
Collagen provides strength and firmness to the skin and elastin provides elasticity allowing the skin to resume shape after stretching or movement. As we age the production and function of both decrease which results in skin sagging and wrinkling.
Profhilo counteracts this by stimulating the production of these proteins to delay and buffer the ageing process and reduce the physical appearance of lines, wrinkles and crepe skin.
Profhilo also has a dual role as a skin hydration treatment due to the function of its main constituent, hyaluronic acid, which hydrates, plumps and gives the skin an almost airbrushed appearance.

How Long Does Profhilo Last?
Profhilo is a collagen induction treatment and therefore results continue to improve over time in response to cellular activity. A noticeable improvement in skin hydration is evident shortly after treatment and an improvement in skin laxity can be seen 3 to 4 weeks following your initial treatment.
The initial treatment consists of 2 sessions, 1 month apart. To maintain the results it is recommended to repeat this cycle either twice a year or receive one syringe of Profhilo every 3 to 4 months.

What Areas Can Be Treated?
Profhilo is a great treatment for skin rejuvenation and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This improves the appearance of skin laxity, tone and hydration, perfect for use on the face.
Profhilo can be used on other areas of the body affected by skin laxity - such as the neck, décolletage, hands, arms and stomach.

Treatment & Results
Your skin will be cleansed prior to treatment and 5 injection points on each side of your face strategically marked out. The position of these injection sites are important to allow for product integration and stimulation of fibroblasts that are responsible for collagen and elastin formation.
We take all reasonable steps to make the treatment comfortable for you however there can be some mild discomfort experienced for a short time during treatment.
You can resume your normal activities following treatment however you may experience some redness at the injection site which will resolve quickly. Due to the nature of the procedure, you may be aware of small bumps under your skin which is normal and again will resolve within a few hours after treatment.
Skin hydration will be noticeable within a few days of treatment whereas improved skin laxity and texture will take 4 to 8 weeks to see and feel the full results.
